The power of excrise

The past week was a bitch mostly because of hospital issues. We have serious financial issues which must be dealt with , but the politician and the weak minded member of our board still think there is someone they can blame . I have found over the years when folks can not make a point based on facts , the next step is to make the discussion personal and the finger pointing starts . Sometime i forget the words of Dr. Seuss " Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." Now to the power of exercise, I have not sleep Worth a flip the passed week until last night . I got on my exercise bike yesterday afternoon and had a good 30 minute total body workout out and sleep like a baby.

Vj had two doctor visits on Friday . The afternoon visit was a nerve conductive test and it looked painful , VJ made it look easy . We are going to Duke for a surgery opinion . Dr G is against any surgery , but he wants another set of eyes to view the problem.


Vj wants to paint the bath room and i thought about trying to do it , but painting is not one of my strong skill. The work out side is almost finished and it looks great.

Spring is trying to pop out , but this morning the sky is slate gray and threatening rain. We can use a little rain , the cherry trees out side my window are heavy with buds a week away from popping out in a wonderful pink and the cypress are spreading there leaf coat. All of this growth need lot of water.

New Hope

VJ saw a new neurologist yesterday and we were very impressed. He took the time to understand she had two issue HD and server pain in her hip and legs.He told her she would not have to endure her pain and started a new rehab protocol and order several test. He is well trained at UNC and has experience with HD working with Longo before he left . We realize HD is a long slow path , but we have hope that her other problem can be addressed . Yes I this is the same person who was bashing doctors recently for being unprofessional and Ego driven.Paint me red faced.

Sj had outpatient surgery yesterday and i spoke to him this Am , all is well and he will be back to work at a game tonight.Kid are all well and in school today.

The weather has turned a little cool so i think i will skip golf today. It is spring in NC and there could well be snow before the real hot weather .I look across my yard and i can see the Green in the lawn try to pop out , it will not be long before the landscape will paint it self in a beautiful canvas.
I think i may have spray the drainage ditch's this afternoon if the wind settles a little.

Lunch with Mom

Mom call and ask us to lunch today, she is still one of the great country cooks i have ever seen. As a matter of fact the second great country cook is her sister BET. I am told by these two that the master country cook from whom they learned there skill was my grandmother Eva. I guess one would expect me to say and believe the above , but it is a fact .Moms family all live a long time (mom is 86) and all of my grandmother's family (Cobb) all have the same or better longevity so my point is genes may over come diet ? My position and i am sticking to it.

Great weather the last few day much better than my golf game, yesterday i could not play dead in a Western.I am going to fertilize my scrubs when i finish coffee and blog, in anticipation of the rain which is suppose to arrive tonight. I am going to talk to a man this morning about some work that i am think of doing outside.

Spring is here and the world is ready to burst into many colors the pear trees look like big white snow cones and the yellow of a bush i can never name are already leading the way. Something will be in bloom from now until it frost next winter .

VJ has an appointment in the morning to review her MRI and find someone who can help her with her leg pain, Huntington is challenge enough with out having to struggle with the leg and hip pain and the issues it adds to her movements. Still no noticeable change for the dimebon.

Life is good , not alway easy

The last week or so have been interesting, the job SJ had locked up was lost to politics or the economy .He had a hot prospect on his house and the folk decide it was to close to the intersection and HG has the pink eye.

VJ's MRI showed a problem with her spine which could be causing her leg pain. We have an appointment on Monday to start that process. I don't know who might read this , but here is some advice from a guy who has been on a hospital board to long and has a few doctor friends. If you don't look after your health and the health of the people you have responsibility for it may not happen.Doctors are so busy treating surface symptom (and they always start with the answer) if they don't get it right most of the time there ego will not allow another look.Enough doctor bashing this morning.VJ still doing well no change observed from dimebon . She has the good attitude and has positive thoughts.


VJ ask me to do a simple plumbing job yesterday should have been ten minutes , but no i had to expand it by breaking something and it turned into several hours and i am not sure i have finished (checking for leaks) , but that is just my way.

The situation at the hospital is interesting and one of the issues is the leadership is bog down in BS issues and have no sense of urgency around the bigger m ore pressing matters.

Played golf a few times last week, scored ok. May get to play again Friday , busy till than.

SPRING ?

The calender and the weather are moving slowly to spring .The spring birds are starting to move in and the early blooming plants are getting ready to burst into color. I played golf today and the wind was quit cool keep the score respectable , try again Sunday.
Still waiting on the MRI reading ,I may have to get a local doc to take a look. I hope the test revel the problem , but I also hope it a quick easy fix . VJ did not go out today because she said "I may fall". Still on dimeabon no noticeable results.

I spoke to mom and Friday is the day she get her hair done and goes to the grocery store, my brother Larry told me mom goes there to visit and catch up on all the local gossip.She will be 86 this fall and still sharp and active.

The shadows are starting to settle across the golf course which is still wearing the brown coat of winter.it was a short time ago that by this time of day all was dark and cold outside. The season change and so do we.
I recently came across the philology i have always live by , but never saw it in print . I new in my sole what it should sound like and after all this time I find a famous doctor has verbalized it Long ago.
