The weather for the past few days have been more like fall than late summer , I expect we will return to the warmer day soon . I hope we have a long Indian summer, I do enjoy the fall not only the weather , but the colors and the movements of the birds and other creatures . It will soon be time to play less golf and spend more time reading and bird watching . I will switch from walking to inside Bike.
VJ is doing well on the Med 's I think I see a little more stability , time will tell. She lost another piece of jewelry yesterday in the mall , it was a cheap watch . On her other arm was an more valuable item . This the second time in the last few months this has happen , I must either convince her to leave her good things home or which will be the case I must pay more attention .
I am not sure if there is just more coverage of the news or if the whole world has gone a little wacky . Vj come into my little man cave each morning were I read the new from the internet and she ask is there any good news and most morning the answer is the same , I have not seen it yet today.
In NC the GOP reclaimed the legislature after almost 100 years and did a good job of putting the state on a solid fiscal path and addressed a number of issue that need attention , and some that should have been left along . The same sex marriage issue did not need to raise it head at all , what happen to smaller government and less taxes . The GOP just can't handle success for some reason they have always got to poke around in the social issues . We have laws on the book in this state that deal with same sex marriage why does it need to be put to a vote of the people , if this they feel this strong about it approve the change in the legislature and the voter will tell them if they were right in 2012. If the politicians were more concerned about what is best for the folk who elected them and less about their reelection , we would see less government.. My rant for today
Time to get to my household chores and my walk , Think I will take VJ out for brunch , she likes to eat out.
Life is Good!
Today was a good day for golf and lunch with VJ. She continue to fight the good fight , Dr Scott increased her Meds during the last clinic visit and we hope it will result in a little more stability and balance for her . She falls several time each month on average , so far no real harm ,so far.
We are still trying to sell our house , but things are slow in the real estate market and I am not sure we can expect any real improvement the rest of this year and not sure about 12. The government and that term is all inclusive (federal, state & local) continue to add regulations , some in conflict with others and don't understand why business is not hiring . I think we must make a decision in this country are we going to grow government or are we going to grow the private sector and we all know which one of the two pays the freight. The folks in office care about one job, their and their only, never forget that one thing drives all the decision they make.
We made the decision to become a one car family and over the last few weeks we made that happen and Vj was a part of that decision. She didn't want to part with her car , but knew she would never drive again she pick out the car she wanted and we sold the old cars and bought the new one what a pain in the ass I have been around the car business for 50 years and the process of buying a car from a dealer has got harder if anything .
I have one more board meeting at the hospital and will be glad to have that behind me . The national health care bill will close a lot of community hospital in the next ten years by forcing consolidation into large health care system, the community hospital if any survive will be band aid stations with few doctors left in small town america.The people making these decision may be smart people , but I think we will find they are dumb as a rock on this issue.
I am looking out my window at a great egret fishing in the pond behind the house , such patient and stealth quite a sight. Last week late in the after noon there were at least 75 of them feeding in the Lilly pads in the lake just before dark. I got some pictures . I do enjoy watching the bird.
We survived Irean OK , no power for a couple of day and lost all the food in the freezer , because there is just the two of us it was not so much , but I was surprised what I found once I started throwing away.
Time to start supper
