Poker Run

We will hold the 1st charity event on the lake today. The event is used by several lake community around the state to support local projects . We have chosen the hospice house as our charity. We have sold all the ticket and if the weather will hold out Thur the afternoon I think we will have a great event.
Vj had her left eye done last Monday and she can now see great , modern medicine is wonderful . She continues with her meds and all seem well , but her balance is getting worse. Sitting she does fine , but once on her feet she has a hard time walking . I think we may increase the Tet a bit.
Hospital meeting done for another month and all is well ,I have another seven to go and it will be time to move on to other opportunities.
Spoke to Fred T yesterday and let him know VJ and would sell him this house if he was still interested . We will see were that goes . I would like to sell this and get into a condo. I don't think I will take on any more debt unless I could steal something . I am not sure were that condo may be . The other option is our lot next door , but not sure I want to go down that road either.

Mom is doing well and SJ was 42 yesterday, were does time go. Kj was 65 last week. I saw some pictures of my granddaughter on face book this morning and if I do say so myself she looks like a little darling , It may be time to move south.

Well time for another cup and the cat needs feed so I need to get to it.

Life is Good!

Fall Yet ?

The morning are cooler and the days are shorter , so it must be close to my favorite time of the year FALL . I am looking forward to the Indian summer which last in this latitude until almost Xmas. The lake and surrounding area take on the colors of fall and are wonderful to see. James L Burk Or William Faulkner could do justice to what I see ever day.The winter birds will start returning soon and I (and my cat) enjoy watching the show they always put on for us.
VJ returns in the morning to have her second cataract surgery and she is so looking forward to getting it behind her and me too. She continues on the new med , but I don't see much improvement in her gait and I think her speech has deteriorate a little , of course she talks mostly to me and my hearing is poor so maybe the problem is not all her speech ! She continue to avoid outside events , preferring smaller venues. She does continue to have the good attitude and seem optimistic about the future.

The hospital is moving in a positive direction, I think we have a good management team in place. If we can keep the politician at bay and get the change we have ask for in our contract with QHR , i think we can move forward to build the rooms in Clayton and become profitable again, this of course will depend on what impact the new health care bill has on local hospital. The more I read the more it appears the bill is targeted to large medical centers , the thinking of the Washington crowd there can be more cost saving and better control in a larger Central setting .This thinking could turn the community hospitals into band aid stations or just dark blights on the local communities landscapes. I hope none of the above is true , but after all we are at the mercy of folk in Washington who seem to have lost touch with the folks at home (us). Remember the only job your elected official has is to stay in office and we come after that.Enough of that , what do I know ?

Golf game is OK , boat still hanging on the hoist . Mom did a little stay in the hospital but is back home and doing well. Kid seem to be OK don't hear from them a often , but they have there life and maybe I will see them soon.

I am getting slack about keeping this space current.i also have a few thing going on which keep from this space , but which I would like to note here , go figure !
Vj had her right eye done on schedule and is set to have the next one done 9/20 .She has not started on the Tet. yet , because we can not find a date to see Burt , either he is busy or we are , but we are all set for next week.I think I see some improvement in her alertness from use of the Dimebon .
We visited Esther& Reg Tuesday and Wednesday morning . I played golf with Reg on Tuesday while VJ& Esther were in Charlotte to visit Jackie and the Kids.We talked about staying over another day but VJ wanted to get home . I think she prefers home and me to doing other things . She likes to eat out , but has a hard time with some foods and her ability to get them from the plate to her mouth.We will return to Rex as soon as we can get another appointment.
We had a lot flooding last week because of heavy rain upstream and only one gate in our dam is working , it has been broken all summer. The BOD of the LLc are poor managers and when push a little on the issues get defensive. Vj and are still toying with the idea of selling this property and buying a condo , the lake is great , but we don't use it and between the issues with the LLC and upkeep of the property well maybe the spring will bring a better housing market.

Played golf & had some good & some not so good , but the weather is great to be outside (In the AM) so just have fun.
