They are on the way

Vj's families called this week and told us they would all be here today , not sure what the reason , but we will be glad to see them . Vj said they are either coming to put me away or to let her know about some family secret.
The flowers are out and the trees are in full leaf , it is summer time in NC.My golf game is sucking wind and I have not wet a hook this year. Between the hospital and doctor visits and just lack of interest I would say I am just about were I should be.

Not much to talk about , Vj will try drugs before we move to consider surgery.The dimebon trial has another 45 day to run and then we will make a decision to continue or not on the med until they get final FDA approval.

Her ability to walk more than a short distance at one time is a real problem for her. We were at the mall and she was confined to a bench until we checked out a wheel chair . The chair is a great aid for us in a mall setting.

Sj's hopes of moving this year don't look good , I am getting 0 help for my political buddy's , truth I don't think they can help. The money to the schools is drying up and truth is these guy are like must public figures , lot of promise not much else.
Life is good.

Another year

I had another anniversary of my marriage and my birth. My brother and I had a conversation about life and how fast it moves by. Some things I thought important are now vague memory and in some cases i can't remember details. I guess once the details fade one can tell the story any way i want to, with the light shinning on me and my version.I also find I my interest level in many thing are not were they have been say just last year.If VJ could travel we would get in the car and see this country, may be one day after we get her back fixed and before HD progress to disability.
We saw two bright young MD's one at UNC & one at Duke. The problem they offered different solutions , we will see DR G Thursday and may set down with Dr Z as well . Vj is in a lot of pain and has a hard time walking more than a short distance before she must sit . I must collect enough information to make a good decision.
Sj was here for another interview this weekend, he was not impressed , I am not sure this is the year to make the big move . My friends who have been helping me with this have little or no influence when it come to the schools , (They think they do )!
We got some rain over night , the first in a month , it is a good thing the earth was brown and crusty , the plants with some age and root system seem to be ok , but some of the Young plants were under a lot of stress .

Another docotor

Vj saw a another MD yesterday to get a second opinion on surgery to her back to relieve her leg pain . I check the guy out before we went and he is very bright and very well trained. (He looks like a college freshman) . He is not in favor of surgery , but did not offer another solution at the time we were there. He said he had not had any exposure to HD since med school and want to get up to speed on the subject. VJ wants to have surgery and she is very insistence on it. I am trying to understand what is the best thing to do.It would be great if the answer was easy and all the MD's were in agreement, but life is not that way in all cases.
The past week has been taken us by one thing or another and i have not had the opportunity to play golf but once, try to change that today . The other thing that struck me this morning as i survey my kingdom , the boat has not been in the water this year nor have wet a hook.
Mothers day is tomorrow, we will visit with Daisey tonight and mom tomorrow.I planted some bushes for mom Thursday for her gift. that is was she ask for and she was happy.

Coffee Time

Early Sunday morning may be my favorite time of the week,me , the cat and my coffee. The time to catch up on desk work , reading and thinking is Sunday morning before 7am. The world seem to still be asleep or a least very quite.

Last week was busy with doctors appointments , yard work and yes a couple days of golf.
Vj saw a surgeon at Duke and he recommend a procedure on her spine , he says she has neurogenic claudilation . The fix is a fusion of L3 & L4 , no nerve involvement. The next step is a second opinion .Vj has so much pain she is ready to jump at any hope , but she has agreed to the second opinion. The first step is a bone density test to make sure her spine can handle the appliance. Dimeabon continues , no real change.

Worked in the yard several times last week and have it looking good. The problem is i can last more than a half day at the time and i am tired and must stop. Getting old has it issues.We need rain very bad .
SJ and family are still on tract to be here next school year , i think it is brave move in this economy The local superintend seem comfortable and Sj is pressing forward. He is in the middle of his soccer season , there was an article in the Charleston paper in the last few weeks discussing his program . His team is currently ranked # 6 among the 4A school in SC. It would be great if he could win the championship his last year in SC.
The hospital saga continues , we have a new team in place and a new plan. I fell good about the future.
